Nearly a month before INHERENT VICE rolls out nationwide, San Francisco’s historic, amazing Castro Theater is holding a special advance screening of Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film INHERENT VICE. I won’t go into details about why I am ridiculously excited to see this, aside from the fact that Anderson is one of my favorite directors and it’s based on a novel by my favorite author ever, one Mr. Thomas “Based God” Pynchon. On top of that, a portion of the proceeds go to the John Burton Foundation which benefits children without homes.

Seeing a work of a major auteur early, at a dazzling venue, with proceeds benefitting homeless children? What do you need, a road map?
